St. James donates sports kits to Africa Educational Trust
The school has received a letter from Africa Educational Trust to thank the school for donating of three sets of sports kits. These have now been distributed in Uganda and gratefully received.
One set was given to Child Restoration Outreach, which supports street children in Mbale town in Eastern Uganda to resettle with their families and get back into school. Recreation activities are a key part of their programme to build confidence in the children and alongside counselling these activities help the children to drop street habits. They have successful boys and girls football teams.
The second set was given to Mount Elgon Primary School in Mbale. Africa Educational Trust works with Mount Elgon as part of their school libraries project and awarded the kit to the school in appreciation of the good work in lending books and using them in class. From the use of the books, the school has reached the national finals of a general knowledge quiz.
The third set was given to Acokora Primary School in Northern Uganda. The school is part of Africa Educational Trust’s Primary School Mother project, where locally nominated women act as role models for girls. The kit was given in appreciation for the good work in supporting girls to enrol and stay in school.
