On Thursday 28th April 2011,Year 4 had a Roman Day.
It all started with us coming into school wearing Roman clothes. There were soldiers, gladiators, and normal Roman citizens. We had to pretend to be slaves and make different Roman objects like oil lamps, mosaics, perfumes and charms. We even had to make cures. The spices smelt wonderful! We then had to collect money for our products which were paid for by the merchants. It was extremely good fun.
One of our favorite parts of the day was the Roman Banquet. We had to lie on a mat and eat with our fingers. It was delicious. We ate cheese, bread and fruit. We were even served wine by the slaves!
It was a brilliant day.
Thank you to all the year 4 staff and the parents who came into help with the day.

Roman Day Tuesday 30th March 2010.
We were told all about what life was like for the Romans.
We then had the opportunity to take part in the different activities like wax writing, bread making, clay pot and jewellery making for a while, which was great fun.
We also did a Roman drama with everyone taking part and which included dancing and acting.
Everyone looked amazing in their Roman costumes.
