Dance Fest 2019

Dance Fest April 2019

On Friday 5th April, the very last day of the spring term, the Dance Fest team of 2019 competed at The Assembly Hall theatre in Tunbridge Wells against eleven other local schools. Our first performance was absolutely amazing and one of the judges said “You certainly saved the best till last.” After a rather nail biting wait we found out that this incredible performance had taken us into the final! We competed in the final against Southborough and Bidborough. We did another amazing performance. Overall, we came second but it was the closest decision in Dance Fest history, with the judges split over the final decision, in the end Southborough won, with St. James’ runners-up.

Thank you so much to Mrs Raistrick and Miss Stock for all their hard work in choreographing the dance. Also thank you to Mrs Holland for all her amazing make up artistry, Mrs Oakley, Miss Hayward and Mrs Piper for their support and popping the confetti cannons. Mrs Crane for the amazing plaits and Mrs Simkins for all the fabulous support on the night. Finally, we would like to thank all our parents for their support and the standing ovation they gave us on the night. Report by Ella, Darcy & Emily.

Mrs Raistrick reported the group had been amazing to work with and put on a fantastic performance which gained terrific comments from the judges. Everyone agreed it had been great fun and a fantastic evening of dance.
